Tired of endlessly scrolling on your phone? Why not learn a positive new pastime or refresh an old one by learning from Sharon Santillo of Family Stories Through Art. Participants of all ability levels will meet at Pine Banks Park during four consecutive Saturday mornings, rain or shine, to learn the basics of sketching or add to their skills in their own sketchbook that’s about the size of a smartphone.
Sharon’s habit of scrolling on her phone was replaced with her trusty sketchbook She wants to share what replacing busy scrolling with an awareness of surroundings and memory building by drawing can add to life. This class is designed for anyone who can hold a pen and book, even if you haven’t drawn since childhood, you can do this. Participants should be able to traverse dirt paths, rocky trails, or hilly paved roads in order to access this class as you’ll need to get to the covered meeting area and surrounding park from the parking lot.
Your class fee of $30 covers a sketchbook and a micron pen for you to keep after the class. Additional materials will be shared in class.
