$0.00
Local birding guide and professional photographer, Michael Bryant aka Nature Man Mike, has teamed up with Adaptive Guides from Waypoint Adventure to lead an Adaptive birding tour along the Northern Strand Trail to the Rumney Marsh. This tour is open to people of all ability levels, including those who are in need of adaptive equipment, people who’ve never gone birding before as well as experienced birders. No matter your experience or ability level, you will enjoy learning about bird identification and their behavior.
This registration is just for the guided tour, if you’d like to attend either the Disability Resources Fair or the stationary birding event with the Boston Birding Festival, no need to register—just show up to the address below between 9am and 11am.
This tour will happen on: Saturday July 11th from 9am to 11am
This tour will leave from: 444 Lynn St, Malden, MA 02148
These events were designed for adults or older children (when accompanied by a parent or guardian) who have the capacity to enjoy a 2 hour or more walk or hike. The activity of bird watching is made easier when participants can hear both bird songs and the guide. This event is not recommended for dogs (GUIDE DOGS WELCOME), please leave your pet at home. Loaner binoculars will be available if guests do not have their own. No bird watching experience required!
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to each location.
About this birding tour:
Enjoy various species of birds on this walk along the Northern Strand Trail. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Limited loaner binoculars will be available on a first come, first served basis. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing for the weather conditions, bringing a snack, water bottle, sunblock / sunhat, and bug spray for the walk. Expect to walk 2-3 miles on paved even paths for this very accessible trip. In the event of heavy rain, the walk will be canceled. In advance of the event we recommend you download these free apps: eBird and Merlin Bird ID to your smartphone to help you document the birds you see and learn how to use these tools from a pro!
Parking: The address is the parking lot along the Northern Strand Trail and across the street from a Dunkin Donuts
Restrooms: ADA accessible restrooms will be on site
